A sad rock story

Aerosmith – Janie’s Got A Gun

Aerosmith released “Pump” in September 1989, and it was definitely one of their best albums. Two years after “Permanent vacation”, the previous album that marked a quality leap for their career, and after the happy rides of “Rag doll“. This album confirmed the new level of Steven Tyler’s group. We already saw the first single, “Love in an elevator“. Few time later, they released this really iconic song.

A complex hit, talking about a terrible topic that really scared Steven Tyler: the unbelievable number if children suffering from abuses within their familiar context. And Janie, with her gun, at the end shoots. Lyrics were softened for the radio broadcast, but the message remained extremely strong. The video shows all the drama and suspence that director David Fincher was able to create. After all he was the director of “Se7en” and “Alien 3”

A great song of a super great group!!!

#quotefromthe80s
He jacked a little bitty baby
The man has got to be insane
They say the spell that he was under the lightning and
The thunder knew that someone had to stop the rain
